1. Website Title Tag
The title is a very important place for you to place your SEO keywords. So far it is very seldom that we see websites showing at the top positions without a single keywords phrase appearing in the Title Tag. The bold phrases show you the keywords that are similar.
2. Metatag Keywords & Description
Meta keywords are SEO keyword phrases that you are targeting. It is not visible to the naked eye as it is meant for search engine spiders only. As for the meta keyword description, it is the phrases that displays on search engines below the title on organic listings.
3. Page Header
In every page you can have up to 6 page headers. From <H1> to <H6>. Do make sure that you don't have 2 H1 tags to avoid confusing the search engine spiders. The header tags are meant for the order of importance of the keyword phrases on the page.
4. Anchor Text
When linking pages, do make sure that the links are not consisting of URLs. The anchor text is the text that affects the search engine rankings. Getting hyper links to your website means nothing if it does not carry the relevant anchor texts. At the end of the day, how high your website get ranked on Google depends on the number of anchor text links on high PR sites.
5. Website Content
When you have your keywords in your content, to make sure that you have optimum keyword density, which is not more than 6% of the total content should your keyword repeat itself. Having more than that and you risk the page being rated as keyword spamming by search engines.
6. Navigation Bar
Having keywords in navigation bar could be crucial as it will likely appear in every single page. However, it does not have any impact if your navigation bar is in flash. This technique only work for HTML based text based navigation bar.
7. In Alt Tags
A lot of people don't really know the purpose of Alt (Alternate) Tags. ALT Tags are meant for those who are deaf and blind initially. When you hover your mouse over pictures, you could see the keywords appearing. If you are using certain softwares, they could even read out the content from the ALT Tags.
